Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Apologizes After Video Shows Him Physically Assaulting Ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs apologized on social media after security footage of 2016 showed he physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles.
After CNN published the video, it went viral on the internet. Several people criticized Combs for his behavior. On Sunday, Combs posted a video on Instagram to apologize for his actions against Ventura. He captioned it, “I’m truly sorry.”
In that video, he said, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that,” and continued, “I was f—– ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. “
He also added that his behavior in that video was inexcusable and that he took full responsibility for his actions. He felt “disgusted” and “sought out professional help,” which included therapy and rehab.
Combs claimed he committed to being a better person and concluded that video by saying, “I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
Combs chased Ventura through the hotel hallway wearing a towel and socks in that footage. While she was waiting for the elevator, he attacked her by grabbing her neck and throwing her to the ground. Then it was shown he kicked her while she was lying on the floor and dragged her from one area to another. Later in the video, he is seen throwing an object at Ventura.
Ventura filed the lawsuit against Comb in November 2023. In that lawsuit, she accused him of physical abuse towards her for several years, including rape. The footage also matches what Ventura claimed in her lawsuit. In her statement, Comb was “extremely intoxicated and punched Ms Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”
She tried to leave the hotel after Comb fell asleep, but he awoke and attacked her and threw a glass vase towards her. According to her filing, she managed to take a cab and returned to her apartment. Ventura also mentioned that Comb paid $50000 to obtain the footage that recorded his physical assault on her.
The following day, Ventura and Comb settled the suit, announcing that they had reached an agreement. After Ventura’s claim, multiple individuals have filed lawsuits against Comb for physical abuse, but he constantly denied all the allegations. In March, Federal agents conducted a raid on his home in Los Angeles and Miami following the sex trafficking allegations.
