Swiftie’s Jacket Makes Its Way to the Arrowhead Stadium Sidelines

As a lifelong Swiftie and Chiefs fan, Court never could have imagined that her vintage Kansas City Chiefs jacket would end up on the back of one of the world’s biggest pop stars. But that’s exactly what happened when Taylor Swift sported the familiar coat to her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Monday.

It all started when Court mentioned to her mom that the jacket Swift was wearing at the game looked “familiar.” After doing some digging, Court and her family discovered that the jacket was none other than one they had previously sold on eBay.

“Then I thought, ‘Did we sell that on eBay?'” Court made this statement in a video th”I checked with my dad, and he was like, ‘Yeah, isn’t that the one that went out to California?'”went out to California?'”

Upon reviewing their previous eBay sales, the family verified that they had shipped the jacket to Los Angeles, with Taylor Swift’s stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, listed as the buyer. “I’m a longtime Swiftie—I’m talking about almost 20 years—and even I don’t know the name of her stylist, and that is who bought the jacket,” Court shared, clearly still in disbelief over the unexpected connection.

Upon closer inspection, Court noticed that the jacket Swift was wearing seemed to have the same minor flaws and “bend” in the leather as the one her family had sold. “So, we double-checked, and not only is it the exact same jacket, but in the pictures we listed on eBay, you can kind of see, like, a bend in it, and you can see that exact same bend in the picture of her wearing it,” she explained. “I can’t make this up.”

While the original eBay listing showed the jacket selling for $169, the fact that it ended up on the back of one of the world’s biggest pop stars is priceless for this devoted Swiftie and Chiefs fan. “Thank you to Taylor’s stylists for buying the jacket,” Court expressed. “This is the most incredible event that has ever occurred to me, as a lifelong Chiefs fan and a ‘Super Swiftie.”

Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night marked her first time attending a Chiefs game in about a month. The 14-time Grammy winner has been open about her love for the team, frequently sporting vintage Chiefs gear from local vintage shops in Kansas City.

In fact, the “Cruel Summer” singer is known for curating her game-day looks from these local shops, pairing vintage pieces with pricier designer items. For Monday’s game, in addition to the iconic Chiefs jacket, Swift donned a pair of $2,195 Christian Louboutin cowboy boots and accessorized with a vintage Chanel necklace and Dior Saddle bag.

Swift, along with Kelce’s parents, her own mom and brother, and her friend Brittany Mahomes, watched the thrilling game. The two WAGs experienced the full range of emotions, from Patrick Mahomes’ injury scare to the game-winning overtime touchdown.

While Taylor Swift may be wearing a vintage item for the first time, it’s not the first time the singer has shown her love for the Chiefs. Swift has been known to frequent local Kansas City shops, including Westside Storey, to curate her game day looks, from a ’90s-era Chiefs crewneck to an oversized T-shirt dress from the ’50s.

For Court, seeing her musical idol wear her old jacket is a dream come true. As she expressed, “I am absolutely thrilled.” So thank you to Taylor’s stylists for buying the jacket. This is the most exciting event that has ever occurred to me, as a lifelong Chiefs fan and a “Super Swiftie.”
