Tatiana Maslany to Star Amazon MGM Studios Dark Comedy Pilot ‘The Nightbeast’
Tatiana Maslany, who is famous for her character in Orphan Black, is set to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming dark comedy pilot, The Nightbeast. She also serves as a producer for the pilot.
As per the official synopsis, The Nightbeast follows the story of a young mother who is not so happy with her suburban life and has started an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet, called the Nightbeast. She thought that her imagination would create a harmless affair, but suddenly it turned into unexpected consequences, which led to collide her two worlds and create a dark comedy tale.
The Nightbeast will be created by Leah Rachel and Travis Jackson. Rachel was the creator of Netflix’s horror series ‘Champers’ for one season, which was released in 2019. Jackon is also part of the creative team for the series and serves as a co-producer.
The executive producers are Peter Warren, Fred Berger, Justin Levy, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range Studios’ Station26; and Kristen Campo via Campount.
Jamie Babbit will direct the pilot, who is known for directing the episodes of Only Murders in the Building. Her other works include Gilmore Girls, My Lady Jane, and But I’m a Cheerleader. She also serves as an executive producer for The Nightbeast.
There are no other actors attached to the cast list of the horror comedy, but it will be expected to be announced soon. It will likely land on Amazon Prime Video when it is released. Currently, there is no confirmed release date for the pilot.
