The Cast of Lizzie McGuire: Then and Now
It’s been twenty years, one of our favorite series, Lizzie McGuire, concluded. Created by Terri Minsky, the series was aired on Disney Channel in January 2001 and ended in February 2004. Hilary Duff played the lead character in the show, which follows the personal and social issues of her teenage years. Based on this series, the film The Lizzie McGuire was released in 2003.
Due to the show’s popularity, Disney announced a revival of the series in August 2019. It is announced that Hilary Duff will be reprising her role as Lizzie and Terri Minsky as the showrunner. The other cast members, including Lalaine, Adam Lamberg, Jake Thomas, Hallie Todd, and Robert Carradine, are also attached to return to the show.
The production started a few months later but stopped in January 2020 after Minsky departed from the series. In December 2020, Disney officially announced the cancellation of the show.

Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire
After playing minor roles in series and films, Hilary acted as the title character in Lizzie McGuire and got the label of a teen idol. She also acted in the film based on the series The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
After that, she appeared in many films, including Cadet Kelly, Agent Cody Bank, A Cinderella Story, War Inc., Bloodworth, and The Haunting of Sharon. She also acted in the TV Land’s Younger series and Hulu’s How I Met Your Father. She also released five studio albums. She married Mathew Koma and has four children.
Lalaine as Miranda Sanchez
Lalaine played the character of Miranda, Lizzie’s best friend. She made her acting debut in the film Borderline. After leaving Lizzie McGuire, she acted in the movies You Wish!, Royal Kill, Easy A, and One Night Alone. She lastly acted in the film Definition Please(2020).
Adam Lamberg as Gordo
Adam Lamberg portrayed the character of Lizzie’s childhood friend, Gordo. He started his acting career in the mid-90s and first appeared in the series Another World. He also appeared in the series-based film The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
After appearing in What Do We Eat and Beautiful Loser, he wrapped his acting career.
Jake Thomas as Matt McGuire
Jake Thomas played Lizzie’s younger brother. He appeared in various films and series throughout his career, including A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Criminal Minds, S.W.A.T, and more.
Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire
Robert Carradine played the role of Lizzie’s father in the series. He started acting in the series Bonanza and Kung Fu. He acted in films including Supercross, Hoboken Hollow, Django Unchained, and more. Recently, he appeared in the movie The Night They Came Home. His upcoming projects are The Driver, Specter, and Covid-2021.
