The Glided Age Season 3 Adds Phylicia Rashad, Victoria Clark, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jordan Donica to the Cast List
The Glided Age adds new cast members to its third season, including Phylicia Rashad, Victoria Clark, and Brian Stokes. Phylicia Rashad will play the role of Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkland, a woman from a prominent family in Newport who is not willing to compromise her standards and expectations in society, especially for her son.
Mitchell will play the guest role of Elizabeth’s husband, Frederick Kirkland, who is the pastor of Black Church and Newport Community’s leader. Donica appears as the recurring character, Elizabeth and Frederick’s son, Dr. William Kirkland, who is a kind-hearted person and not a conservative type like his family members. Clark will star as Joan Carlton, a kind woman from the old money side who is sincere and supportive of her son.
The Glided Age is a HBO’s historical drama series created and written by Julian Fellowes along with co-writer Sonja Warfield. It is co-produced by HBO and Universal Television. Fellowes and Warfield also serve as executive producers, along with Gareth Neame, Bob Greenblatt, and David Crockett.

The series is set in the time-period of the United States during the Glide Age, especially in the late 1800s. The first season was released in January 2022, and the second season premiered in October 2023. The series was praised for its actor’s performances and costumes. The third season was renewed in December 2023, a few days after the season 2 finale.
There is no confirmation regarding the returning cast members, but most of the previous actors will be expected to reprise their roles in The Glided Age season 3, including Carrie Coon, Louisa Jacobson, Christine Baranski, Taissda Farmiga, Morgan Spector, Denée Benton, Harry Richardson, Blake Riston, and Taylor Richardson.
There is no official release date announced for the upcoming season. But in an interview with Vanity Fair, Carrie Coon shared that the upcoming season’s production will start in July. The actress, also part of The White Lotus season 3, said, “I think we’re going to go into production on The Gilded Age in July. And although White Lotus will continue shooting in July, I will probably wrap out by June, just so they can get me back for Gilded Age.”
Rashad appeared in many films and series, including For Colored Girls, Good Deeds, Creed, Little Bill, and The Coby Show. She recently appeared in the film The Beekeeper, directed by David Ayer.
Michel is best known for his character in CBS’ Trapper John, M.D., and he recently appeared in Jonh Ridley’s film Shriley. Jordan Donica appeared in the series Blue Bloods and Charmed. Clark is famous for her performances in the Broadway musicals The Light in the Pizza and Kimberly Akimbo.
