Widowed Foodie Kelly Rizzo Finds New Love, But Keeps Late Husband Bob Saget Close to Her Heart

Kelly Rizzo, a food and travel blogger, was understandably devastated when she lost her beloved husband and beloved comedian Bob Saget in a tragic accident last year. But in the wake of her grief, Rizzo has found solace and support in a new relationship with actor Breckin Meyer.

In a candid interview with E! News, Rizzo revealed how Meyer has been a constant source of strength during her healing journey. “He understood what I went through, and he appreciated and accepted it—and always likes to talk about Bob,” Rizzo shared.

Rather than shying away from discussions about Saget, Meyer has embraced the integral role the late “Full House” star played in Rizzo’s life. “It’s never like, ‘Oh, I don’t wanna mention Bob. I don’t want Breckin to feel awful about that,'” Rizzo explained. “He’s just always been so kind about it. It’s been really special.”

Maintaining the “wonderful parts of Bob” in her life has been crucial, and Rizzo expresses her gratitude to Meyer for welcoming Saget’s three daughters—AAubrey, Lara, and Jennifer—warmly. “It’s pretty impossible not to like Breckin,” she said. “He’s met Bob’s girls multiple times. We’ve had dinners together. They adore him. He loves them. It’s been really, really nice. They’ve kind of welcomed him.”

While moving forward has not been easy, Rizzo believes that Meyer is likely the only man her late husband would have approved of her dating. “He’s like, ‘Alright, I’m not exactly thrilled about any of this, but it’s got to be somebody; let it be Breckin,'” she joked.

Rizzo’s newfound relationship with Meyer does not mean she has forgotten Saget. In fact, she continues to honor his legacy through her work, including her popular Comfort Food podcast and the recently launched Comfort Club, a supportive community for those navigating loss and grief.

“I think that for as long as I live, I’m always going to want to be celebrating and talking about Bob,” Rizzo told people last year. “It makes me pleased to talk about him. Obviously, you have to live your life and move forward. You must pursue your own path.

As Rizzo navigates this next chapter, she remains open to the possibility of remarriage, though she’s in no rush. “It’s definitely something I’m open to,” she said. “I truly learned you can’t plan life. Life has other plans.”

Through it all, Rizzo’s unwavering love and respect for Saget serve as a testament to the power of their bond. With the support of her new partner and the embrace of Saget’s family, Rizzo is finding the strength to move forward while keeping her beloved husband’s memory alive.
