I’m excited to share the latest updates on the highly anticipated second half of season 5. After a two-year wait, fans will finally get to witness the conclusion of the Dutton family’s epic saga.
Cole Hauser Is “interested” In Continuing Yellowstone With Rip And Beth
Recent reports suggest that Yellowstone may not actually be the end. In an interview at the season 5 premiere in New York, lead actor Cole Hauser, who plays the fan-favorite character Rip Wheeler, hinted at the possibility of a sixth season.
“You never know whether it’s coming to an end or not, so we’ll see,” Hauser told The Hollywood Reporter. He went on to say that when it comes to his character and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, “You can go on forever about these two. There are no boundaries or limitations when it comes to them. “As long as [creator] Taylor Sheridan wants to write something special, I know Kelly, and I would be interested in doing it.”
This is certainly exciting news for devoted Yellowstone fans who have grown to love the dynamic relationship between Rip and Beth. Hauser’s comments suggest that even if the upcoming second half of season 5 concludes the overall Dutton family storyline, there may be room for the characters’ journeys to continue.
Cast Reflects On Filming Final Season Amid Obstacles
While the future of Yellowstone remains uncertain, the show’s other stars shared their reflections on the challenges of filming the final episodes. Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, acknowledged the various obstacles the cast faced, including COVID-19 seasons and Kevin Costner’s reduced involvement.
“I’m glad we were able to finish the show—tthere were a lot of obstacles; we had COVID seasons and strike seasons and Kevin not being around,” Grimes admitted. “It’s a miracle that were able to finish the show so that’s nice, but also I’m going to miss a lot of these people.” Wes Bentley, who portrays Jamie Dutton, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “We miss him; he’s a huge part of the show and a great guy to have around.”
Despite the challenges, the cast seems determined to deliver a fitting conclusion for their characters and the loyal Yellowstone fanbase. As Kelsey Asbille, who plays Monica Dutton, promised, “It’s a perfect ending—a deserved ending for all the characters. I’m really excited to see, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done this season.”
Kelly Reilly Shares Cast’s Commitment To Delivering A Satisfying Finale
In a separate interview, Kelly Reilly elaborated on the cast’s mindset during the filming of Yellowstone’s final episodes. The actress, who portrays the formidable Beth Dutton, revealed a shared sense of purpose among the ensemble.
“There was a real mentality of doing something together that felt important,” Reilly told people. “And I think we felt that way this year with this show, with it being the end of this chapter, the end of this story, this saga, this moment in time of the Dutton story… we felt really protective over delivering the last season to be, I’m hoping, the finest.”
Reilly also acknowledged the gratitude the cast felt in being able to return to work and conclude the series, especially after the industry faced challenges due to the pandemic. “Our industry has faced significant challenges, and for everyone, returning to work has been an entirely new experience.” So there was a tremendous amount of gratitude and not taking it for granted that we were all back doing what we all love to do,” she shared.
