Dolphins’ Achane Looks to Shine Against Struggling Rams

In a Week 10 showdown on Monday Night Football, the Miami Dolphins (2-6) will travel to face the Los Angeles Rams (4-4) at SoFi Stadium. Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, who has emerged as a key offensive weapon for Miami this season, is one player to closely watch. Achane, the Dolphins’ third-round draft pick in 2023, has been a pleasant surprise for the struggling Dolphins. The fast Texas A&M rookie can make an impact on the ground and in the air.

This season, Achane is averaging 52.5 rushing yards per game with two touchdowns. He’s also contributing 30.4 receiving yards per contest, giving Miami’s offense a much-needed boost, especially with star wide receiver Tyreek Hill potentially sidelined due to a wrist injury.

The oddsmakers have set Achane’s rushing yards prop for Monday’s game at 57.5 yards. He’s gone over that mark in four of his eight games played so far this year. However, his overall season average of 52.5 rushing yards per game is slightly below that projection.

Interestingly, the status of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has heavily influenced Achane’s production. In the four games Tagovailoa has started, Achane is averaging 63 receiving yards per contest and has found the end zone five times. In the four games Tagovailoa has missed, Achane’s numbers have dipped significantly, with just 35 rushing yards per game and no touchdowns.

“Tua really makes a difference for our entire offense, and that includes guys like De’Von,” said Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. “When Tua is out there, he does a great job of getting the ball to our playmakers in space, and De’Von has proven he can make things happen.” With Tagovailoa expected to start on Monday, Achane will look to continue his strong play and help the Dolphins pull off the upset against the defending Super Bowl champion Rams.

On the other side, the Rams will counter with a talented receiving corps led by Puka Nacua. The second-year wideout has had an up-and-down season due to injuries, but when healthy, he’s shown the ability to be a reliable target for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The prop for Nacua’s receiving yards on Monday night stands at 42.5, and he has exceeded this mark in four of his three games this season. His involvement in the Rams’ passing attack could be even more crucial this week, as Los Angeles continues to deal with injuries to key offensive pieces like Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson.

“Puka has really stepped up for us when he’s been able to get on the field,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “He has great chemistry with Matthew, and we’re going to need him to make some plays in the passing game to complement our running attack.”

With both teams fighting to stay in the playoff hunt, Monday’s matchup between the Dolphins and Rams promises to be an exciting affair. All eyes will be on Achane and Nacua as they look to make an impact and lead their respective squads to a crucial victory.

Whether you’re tuning in for the quarterback duel between Tagovailoa and Stafford, the battle of the running backs, or the wide receiver showdown, this primetime clash is sure to deliver plenty of drama and excitement. Fans won’t want to miss a minute of the action on Monday Night Football.
